Our Story

Right now, across the world, there’s a ground swell of momentum that’s resulting in people taking to the street on foot and two wheels.

Whatever the reason; environmental and traffic congestion benefits, money and time-saving, health, exercise - we think it's fantastic, and we wanted to do something to help.
We believe viable urban transportation alternatives in cities worldwide should be encouraged to help make cities more liveable and sustainable.

Here in Sydney, Australia, where monkeysee has it’s head office, we are proud of the stance many councils have taken to establish bike paths and create more awareness of alternative forms of transport.

Why now?

As keen cyclists ourselves – we feel pretty strongly about cyclist ''visibility'.
Visibility in the sense of ''we exist'' that the weight of our popularity is clear to motorists and other non-belivers.
And Visibility from the practical sense, of being more visually ''seen'' by motorists and pedestrians from a safety persepctive.

So to address the practical of being ''seen'' in this fashion-orienated climate we found more of the same-old boring fluro(neon) workman style vests and tacky hi-vis gear.
So we started to wonder if there was a way we could make gear that was good looking and wearable - yet truly effective.

And so monkeysee was born!

And while we can’t promise that hi-vis or reflective will save you, we can assure you that it won’t hurt you either. 'Better to prepare and prevent, than repair and repent!’ as they say!
