Sydney Critical Mass

On the last Friday of every month, in hundreds of cities worldwide, cyclists, bladers and boarders meet for a rolling celebration of non-motorised transport. It's a welcoming space where people feel safe.

Sydney's Critical Mass gathers from 17:30 on the last Friday of every month. We leave the Archibald Fountain at the north end of Hyde Park (here's a map) at about 18:00 and ride around for about an hour.

The Nunnery Bike Workshop

Cycle Re-Cycle Club (affectionately known as “The Nunnery Bike Workshop”) is a community based group of enthusiastic bike minded people who gratefully receive pre-loved or abandoned bikes, parts and accessories to help you make a working bike to go back into the community.
Volunteers work alongside people sharing their mechanical knowledge and showing them how to use tools to recycle discarded and pre-loved bicycles and to repair and maintain them afterwards. All aimed at increasing the use of bikes in and around Sydney.
Join in and learn all about how bikes work and / or share your knowledge and experiences or just come along and have some social time.

Rally for Safe Biking - Saturday 12 March

All Sydney bike riders are urged to participate in this weekend’s Rally to Support Safe Cycling.

The Rally starts at 8am at RTA Headquarters at 101 Miller Street, North Sydney and ends at Parliament House in Macquarie Street, Sydney.

This is a great opportunity to show decision makers and politicians that there are lots of bike riders in Sydney and that our safety on the road shouldn’t be an after thought.

Before you Vote - NSW elections

Representatives from NSW Bicycle User Groups recently came together -atop of their agenda was discussion of a list of questions to be put to candidates prior to coming NSW state election on March 26.

It was agreed that as far as possible groups would try to take a united position. A list of thought provoking questions has been drawn up which it is hoped will have a number of uses.

Bicycle NSW and the affiliated BUGs hope that these questions will prove useful to both groups and individuals in the coming weeks as the March 26 election draws nearer.
